Filming Schedule

Now the storyboard is complete it is time to start filming. As we need to go up to London in order for use to geographically set our music video we will need to arrange a whole day where we are all free in order to go to London to film. We have decided to do this on the 21st October, this is because we have this Friday off school however if we treat it like a school day then no one will have plans or work therefore we can make a day of it. Filming late October reduces our time to edit therefore we need to make sure our filming is as close to perfect as we can. Our whole music video isn't set in London therefore we can film the local parts sooner. We need to use a projection therefore we can use the school facilities, these shots can be done within the school day to give us some footage to start editing. Also there are elements where we have live performance in a bed room therefore this could be a small after school, filming evening in order to capture this shot. Also the dating scene can be filmed before by using our location Nando's or restaurant at Hempstead Valley or       The Chatham Dockside.

On the 21st we will get the train at 10:45 at Rainham Station and will arrive at Victoria Station at approximately 9:54. Then we will get the tube, take the Victoria line to Warren Street then change lines here to take the Northern line to Camden Town. From here we will look around for the best location, Camden always has market therefore we will use this location for our footage. On the way back will use Victoria Train Station for the purposing scene.



Hoping all this goes to plan we will have all our footage by the 31st October therefore gives us a long time to edit however if any footage needs re-filming or changing then we will have the opportunity to. If the 21st ends up being a problem then our back up date is the 24th, which is a half term day.

Due to the length of the song we decided to cut the music therefore some of the lyrics where cut so we won't need to include these into our story board plan. We printed out the lyrics and wrote small annotations along side in order for us to make a clear image of our story board before adding images to the real story board. This task was really productive because we put all our ideas down and now come to a clear outcome and understanding of our narrative, as well as the balance of performance and narrative. 

Lip Syncing

Lip Syncing

It was difficult to edit the music in order for the lip syncing and music to match up. We decided to have the music playing out loud from a phone in order to have the right words a rhythm. We used both an outside and inside location in order to see the lighting difference and see if it'll effect the lip syncing, this was a successful outcome because both lip syncing looks really convincing. The song has a repetitive beat however the words can be quite fast therefore the diction and mouth shape needs to be convincing. We decided that if the actor actually sang the song rather than mouthing it, it would possibly look more convincing as when you lip sync your mouth creates bigger actions therefore not making it look realistic. We will use this technique when filming this music video because we feel like it'll be the best way to control and make the singing look convincing. 

As our music video genre is R'n'B our actor needs to make herself look submissive and have the audience engaged by looking at the camera, where as other genres such as Rock won't even look directly into the camera. We used Sara and Amy in our experiment; Sara, because she'll be our actor and Amy, because she is one of our team members therefore she'll be able to understand the difficulty on the task and how to improve it.
